INXmobile

Establishing the visual foundations for an innovative mobile startup

INXmobile was an early-stage mobile startup looking to establish its visual direction. At this stage, the brand needed a strong starting point rather than a fully developed identity system, so I worked with the client to explore and define some of the core visual ingredients that would shape its future identity.

The problem

Laying the groundwork

INXmobile needed a distinctive visual direction that suited an innovative mobile business, with enough flexibility for the identity to evolve alongside the company and its offer.

Sketch first, commit later

I started with discovery and concept exploration, sketching a wide range of ideas around the INXmobile name, communication and connection. Working through these early concepts with the client helped us narrow the direction, keep the ideas that felt right for the business and let the rest go.

The outcome

The building blocks of a brand

The exploration produced an initial logo direction, colour palette and typography pairing, giving INXmobile its visual foundations.

A mark that does the talking

The speech-bubble-inspired logo combines the INXmobile wordmark with a simple visual cue for communication.

A mark that's flexible enough for any canvas

Confident and digital-first

A bold blue palette and contemporary typography gave the young brand a confident, modern feel.

A strong start

The work didn't try to define every part of the brand too early. It gave INXmobile a clear creative direction to build on as the business grew.
